Day 1 @ the Beach
Every year for vacation we trek down to Gulf Shores, AL. The reason: Because we love the beach, we love vacations and my aunt has a house there that she lets us use for free--good enough reasons. This year marked the 6th year in a row that Heidi and I have been there in the summer and it keeps getting better and better. We have started a family tradition (it began last year) where we invite my dad to come stay a few days with us. He came and stayed a four days with us and on day one of our vacation, he took us to Pensacola, FL to visit the Naval Air Museum.
Here is Pops (thats what I call my dad) and the kids kicking it at the Museum. The really cool thing about this base is that it is the home of the famous "Blue Angels." If you don't know about them, you might want to google them sometime soon.
Here is a pic of some retired Blue Angel planes. I was like a little kid looking at all the airplane stuff in the musuem. I have such a love for looking at planes that you would think that I would want to be a pilot, but that is not the case. I think the greatest thing about living near that ATL airport is watching the planes land and takeoff--I think the kids and I could watch them for hours and it never get old.
Even the kids got into the action at the musuem and pretended they were jet fighters whose sole job was to protect the citizens of the free world from air attacks--or at least I think that is what they were doing--they were probably just sitting in the plane getting some rest.
